How Can I Help from the U.S.? By prayer, contributions and funding of scholarships through the Ruthie Martinez Children's Fund, and donations of school equipment for La Vega Christian School. See details. We are excited with how the Ruthie Martinez Scholarship program is growing. Among the new students this year were young people from La Lima, Soto, and Arenoso. Currently there are over seventy children who receive at least half-scholarships in the program. Many of them would never have the opportunity to study in a private school if not for the kindness and generosity of their sponsors. If you would like to sponsor a child, please write Debbie at our field address, or e-mail her at dominicanmissions@hotmail.com Half scholarships start at $20.00 US monthly. Another great need is to build the new High School, and convert the basketball court into a multi-purpose building. We still depend on work teams to keep costs at a minimum. If you want to get involved locally within the Dominican Republic there are two things you can do: 1. Bring a group from your church or area to minister to the nationals and help with the various projects available. Mitch and Debbie welcome couples and individuals who want to get involved in the ministry in the Dominican Republic. There is a multitude of opportunities for your help and currently we are in need of volunteers for help with the media center, the christian school (La Vega Christian School), music ministry, and planting churches and more. |
