Dominican Missions
Update

THIS IS IT!

This is it!
Have you been waiting for just the right time to send in your pledge?
Have you been wondering if Mitch and Debbie need more pledges?
Do they have any needs?
This is it!
Yes, we need more pledges; in fact, we need a miracle in order to be back in La Vega for our target date of July 27, 2006.  We are committed to serving God in the Dominican Republic, but without committed supporters this will not be possible.  Will you help us?
How/why pledge?
Our missions agency, Assemblies of God World Missions, wants assurance

that their missionaries will have adequate support on the field; that’s why they set a budget goal for us.  We cannot leave until the goal is met.
Some churches and individuals send in offerings on a monthly basis, others prefer a one-time offering.  For example, one relative sent in a pledge for $50, then sent $600 for the whole year.  Thank you!
Pledges can also be paid electronically.  We can send you the forms.
When do you need that pledge?
Now!  It must be processed in order for us to be given clearance to leave for the DR.  Please help us return in time for the new school year!  Make sure you sign it.

What about an offering?  Do you need that?
Yes! This is it! There are several one-time expenses that must be met.
Can I just pray?
Just pray?  Prayer is a powerful tool God has given us to establish His kingdom on earth.   We need your prayers every day! This is it!
Please pray for:

1. Our pledge and cash budget to be met.
2. For two American teachers making plans to come to teach in our school.
3.    For the remaining work to be completed on the media center, and for the TV programs we will be producing.

4.   For our health, traveling mercies, & effective ministry.
For revival in the Dominican Republic.

Will you make a missions  pledge, a faith promise?   This is it! All you need to do is trust God.  Can you believe him to supply a small sum each month to help us reach Dominicans for Christ?  We can not do it on our own.  We need a team of partners committed to pray for us and give toward our ministry.  Will God reward you?  He promises to supply your needs according to His riches in glory.  Thank you so very much.

Leaving Family Behind

Debbie and her Granddaughter Astrid

One of the hardest parts of being a missionary is leaving family.  We are committed to answering God’s call, and can trust him to take care of our family while we are far away.

Sarah, 23, is the proud mother of little Astrid, 20 months.  Sarah finished her first year as a first grade teacher, and is working this summer preparing kindergarten students for the new school year.  She plans to continue teaching first grade next year.  Her husband, Aaron Rios, is producing his music CD and working with a motivational company.

Joshua, 26, will be returning to the Dominican with us to teach, evangelize and help us plant churches.

Paul
, 21, has one more year at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL, majoring in communications (TV and Radio).

John, 18, graduated from high school in May and will enter the Coast Guard on July 11.
We will also miss our extended family and friends!

Calvary Acadamy Senior Trip

Classes Start Again in August Classes start soon

On May 23 we flew to the DR to host the Calvary Academy seniors and their sponsors.  The Lord used them mightily as they presented their dramas in public schools, churches and La Vega Christian School.  They also gave out Book of Life literature at the public schools.  The Book of Life is a composite of the four Gospels.  In spite of problems with electricity and the sound system, souls were saved at each event.  God answers prayer and is bringing revival to our part of the world!
The team also helped build Sunday school classrooms for Juan Carlos’ church in Esperanza.  Their offerings helped pay for the stucco work on the TV production studio.  They weren’t able to paint because of the rain, but that was the Lord’s plan, to allow them more time for evangelism.
God is so faithful to send us teams to help.  During our itineration this year we have spoken to many churches about coming to help us evangelize and build.  There is plenty of work to do!  Be sure to contact us regarding dates and costs.  It is a privilege for us to host Kingdom builders!  For more information email us at dominicanmissions@hotmail.com. or click here.

What's Next
Students excited about book of life

Will we get to rest when we return to the Dominican Republic in July?  More than one person has asked that question.  No, it is back to work!
The next day back is our high school graduation.  That first weekend we will be assisting fellow missionaries with the King’s Castle Congress to be held in La Vega this year.  King’s Castle is an international ministry to children.  Please pray many, many kids and teens will decide to follow Christ as a result of this outreach.!
The month of August will be busy with teacher training, and helping our U.S. teachers get settled.  School starts this year on August 22.
Mitch will be returning to begin the fall semester in the Bible Institute.   We need to train workers to plant churches in the 6000+ towns and villages.
Mitch will also be setting up the studio and producing TV shows. This promises to be our best term ever!  Thank you so much for partnering with us!

The children with the Book of Life that the Calvary team gave out!
